Pet Diagnostic Laboratory Services

Digital Radiography
X-rays are one of the most useful and expeditious diagnostic tools in medicine. They are invaluable for examining, identifying, and diagnosing a variety of problems. We have invested in state-of-the-art digital x-ray equipment, which provides the very best images. Digital x-rays are advantageous because they are immediate and viewable on a computer monitor or on your mobile device. Additionally, the image can be easily manipulated to get a better view of bones or organs, and the results can be easily shared via email with you or with specialists if the need arises. Ultrasound
An ultrasound is a safe, painless, and non-invasive form of imaging that allows us a three-dimensional real-time view of your pet’s internal organs. Using sound waves, an ultrasound provides a moving picture of your pet’s organs that allows us to visualize objects that x-rays cannot. It is these images that enable us to evaluate the size, tissue density, and texture of your pet’s internal organs. We can diagnose pregnancy, as well. The information we gather during an ultrasound procedure can help determine if abnormalities are visible and if further diagnostics are required.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy procedures are minimally invasive and diagnostic in nature. An endoscope is a flexible high-resolution video camera that allows us to assess the interior surfaces of an organ or area of the body. Endoscopy procedures are often used for tissue and organ biopsies or to get an “inside view” of a particular area of your pet’s body. Performed under anesthesia in order to keep the patient still, it is less invasive and provides a faster recovery for your pet than a traditional exploratory surgery.
In-House Laboratory Suite
Our in-house diagnostic suite enables us to run a vast array of tests quickly and efficiently, often providing us with timely and valuable information during the office visit. Some of the tests we will typically run in-house include CBC, Chemistry Panels, Electrolytes, Cytology, Pre-Surgical Bloodwork Panel(s), Urinalysis, Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrilicia and Anaplasmosis.
Outside Reference Laboratories
We utilize several reference laboratories to assist with diagnostic testing for your pet. Examples are as follows: Allergy Screening, Culture & Antibiotic Sensitivity, Cystology & Histopathology, Stone Analysis, Therapeutic Drug Levels and monitoring Titer and PCR testing for specific infectious diseases.
